A: Hastelloy is a registered trademark of Haynes Corp. and it has some other names such as:
-C276
-UNS N10276
-W. Number 2.4819

Q: What is the chemical composition of of Hastelloy?
A: See Figure 16 (below) for a chart showing the chemical composition. You will find that it is mainly nickel with significant contributions from molybdenum and chrome along with a touch of tungsten and some other trace elements.

Q: What are some of the mechanical properties of Hastelloy and do they vary according to forming method?
A: Yes, the mechanical properties of Hastelloy depend on forming method. Please see Figures 17, 18 and 19 for some mechanical property data:

Q: Which is harder, annealed Hastelloy or cold-worked Hastelloy?
A: Cold working makes Hastelloy harder and increases tensile and yield properties. Please compare Figure 17, Figure 18, and Figure 19 with Figure 20, Figure 21 and Figure 22 for further details.

Q: How to increase the tensile and yield properties of Hastelloy?
A: The increase in tensile and yield properties of Hastelloy is dependent on the per centum of cold reduction. There are a few ways to do this, contact Blake at bkengineering@lycos.com or text/call 415.890.3022 for further details.

Q: I have more questions. Where can I find more FAQ's?
